Symptoms you may notice
- The feature or device does not behave as expected.
- The issue returns after retrying the same action.
- You may see an error message, warning, delay, or missing response related to this problem.
Before you begin
- Connect the device to reliable power if battery level is low.
- Save open documents and close any application that contains unsaved work.
- Write down the exact error message or take a screenshot before changing settings.
Step-by-step troubleshooting
Charge both devices
Make sure the phone and headphones have sufficient battery. Place earbuds in their case briefly if the manufacturer uses the case to reset pairing state.
What you should see: The accessory should power on reliably.
Put headphones in pairing mode
Follow the headphone manufacturer pairing procedure and keep the device close to the phone. Disconnect it from other laptops or phones that may automatically grab the connection.
What you should see: The headphones should appear in the Bluetooth device list.
Forget the old pairing
Open Bluetooth settings, select the headphones, and choose Forget/Unpair.
What you should see: The old saved pairing should be removed.
Toggle Bluetooth
Turn Bluetooth off for 10 seconds and back on, then reopen the device list.
What you should see: Bluetooth discovery should refresh.
Pair again
Select the headphones from Other Devices/Available devices and approve the pairing request.
What you should see: The phone should show Connected for audio.
Reset the headphones only with official instructions
If pairing still fails, use the manufacturer official reset procedure because button combinations vary and may erase saved pairings.
What you should see: The headphones should return to a clean pairing state.
Confirm the problem is resolved
- Repeat the action that originally failed and confirm it now completes normally.
- Restart the affected application or device once more and verify the fix remains in place.
- Confirm that no new warning or error message appears during normal use.
If the problem continues
If none of the steps resolve the problem, stop making additional changes and contact technical support. Provide the exact error text, screenshots if available, the device model, operating-system version, and a list of the steps already completed.
